Video Africa 2025: A Leading Platform for Capital Access Across Africa’s Financial Ecosystem

Verdant Capital is pleased to share highlights from the sixth edition of the Video Africa Virtual Investor Conference, held from March 4 to 6, 2025. This year’s event marked a record in both participation and transaction momentum, reinforcing Video Africa’s role as a leading capital-raising platform for high-growth institutions across the continent’s financial ecosystem.
A total of 11 clients participated, spanning a wide range of models and sectors. These included microfinance institutions expanding credit access at the base of the pyramid, fintechs enabling digital financial inclusion, mobility financiers driving vehicle ownership and income generation, PAYGo solar businesses advancing energy access, trade finance platforms supporting SME growth, and structured credit vehicles offering institutional investors scalable exposure to inclusive finance. These companies operate across 10 African markets and represent some of the most innovative and impactful financial businesses on the continent.
The conference also featured the Verdant Capital Hybrid Fund as a presenting client, highlighting continued traction in its capital raising efforts to support debt and mezzanine investments in inclusive financial institutions.
Investor engagement was both broad and targeted, with 36 institutional investors participating in 54 one-on-one meetings. The investor base reflected the depth of capital now focused on Africa’s financial inclusion and innovation agenda, including development finance institutions, private equity and venture capital funds, private credit and structured debt investors, strategic and bank investors, and microfinance investment vehicles (MIVs)—specialised funds dedicated to financing responsible lenders with strong developmental impact.
These engagements have already translated into meaningful outcomes, with several clients advancing to follow-up discussions, term sheet negotiations, and investor due diligence.
Video Africa continues to deliver tangible results for both capital seekers and capital providers, accelerating capital flows into high-impact business models and supporting the growth of Africa’s next generation of financial champions.
Verdant Capital is pleased to announce that the seventh edition of Video Africa will be held from March 10 to 12, 2026. We look forward to building on this year’s success and once again convening Africa’s most dynamic financial institutions and global investors committed to scale, impact, and innovation.
