UsPlus Strengthens Funding Base with New Institutional Capital to Accelerate SME Financing Growth

UsPlus Limited (“UsPlus”) has successfully strengthened its funding platform through a combination of new Tier 1 and Tier 2 equity (“equity”) and institutional debt funding, positioning the company to accelerate the growth of its working capital solutions for South African SMEs.
The company secured a ZAR 100 million equity investment from domestic institutional investors, reinforcing its capital base and supporting the continued expansion of its receivables financing platform. This equity investment reflects strong investor confidence in UsPlus’ proven business model, robust governance, and long-term growth trajectory.
Alongside the equity investment, UsPlus expanded its access to institutional debt funding, including a ZAR 40 million senior unsecured facility arranged by Verdant IMAP, the investment banking division of Verdant Capital. The facility provides competitively priced funding aligned with UsPlus’ financing model and supports the continued scaling of its trade receivables portfolio.
As part of the strengthening of its funding structure, UsPlus has fully repaid the USD 3 million mezzanine facility previously provided by Verdant Capital Hybrid Fund. Verdant Capital Hybrid Fund was an early institutional funding partner to UsPlus, supporting the company during a key stage of its growth. The equity capital raise and the successful repayment reflects the company’s strong operational performance. The repayment represents the first full exit of an investment in the Verdant Capital Hybrid Fund portfolio.
These transactions mark an important milestone in the evolution of UsPlus’ capital structure. The strengthened balance sheet and improved funding efficiency provide a solid foundation for continued growth and enhance the company’s ability to meet increasing demand for working capital finance from SMEs.
UsPlus plays a critical role in supporting South African SMEs by providing fast, flexible receivables-backed financing that improves liquidity and enables businesses to grow. Since inception, the company has supported thousands of SME funding transactions across a wide range of sectors that contribute to employment and economic development.
Verdant IMAP is proud to support UsPlus in expanding its institutional funding base and remains committed to arranging innovative capital solutions for specialty finance platforms that advance financial inclusion and economic growth across Africa.
UsPlus is now strengthened by the addition of two formidable capital partners: Regive Capital, whose developmental approach to finance closely aligns with that of UsPlus, and Finbond Mutual Bank, whose institutional support provides a broader base from which we can continue to support the businesses that support South Africa.
