Chris Mutseyekwa joins Verdant Capital as Fund Accountant & Finance Manager
Chris has joined Verdant Capital as Fund Accountant and Finance Manager. He is responsible for the Verdant Capital Hybrid Fund I and the Verdant Capital Group. Chris is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant with CIMA (UK) in collaboration with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He has experience in both public and private enterprises within the financial services landscape in Zimbabwe. Prior to joining Verdant Capital, Chris worked in the Private Equity space with Takura Capital, investing in growing Zimbabwean and SADC businesses. As Fund Accountant, he managed over USD $75 Million worth of capital from Development Finance Institutions (DFI’s) such as CDC, DEG and FMO. His experience in finance spans from Policy and Regulatory roles with the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to Fund Accounting at Minerva, one of the largest Pension Fund Managers in Zimbabwe.
In his role as a fund accountant, Chris will oversee the fund accounting for the Verdant Capital Hybrid Fund I. He will be responsible for the statutory, management, investor reporting and financial management of the fund. A role that is expected to grow to be responsible for USD 100 million in committed capital.
Chris is passionate about development finance, financial inclusion and poverty alleviation.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from CCS University in India and a master’s degree in Development Finance from Great Zimbabwe University. He is also a qualified Chartered Management Accountant.
